A modern update and a fresh approach was required for this freestanding home in the leafy streets of North Bondi. The project was a full home renovation for a couple beginning a different phase of life in their long standing family home. With now adult children, the home had seen many years of family living and was in need of an update to suit the family’s evolving needs. As the focus of the project was to create their dream home, achieving the right solution was paramount.

With some initial structural plans drawn up by a draftsman a few years earlier, they needed someone to tweak the plans to suit the next phase of their life, help them detail the designs and pull together a cohesive warm, coastal palette and finishes that would withstand their entertaining lifestyle, as well as project manage the build for them due to their travel commitments. With kitchen, bathrooms, laundry, joinery, flooring and external finishes getting a re-fresh, the project touched almost every surface.
The client is a passionate cook so the kitchen was a primary focus for the team as she required a solution that was highly functional and would fully cater to her large dinner parties as well as day to day cooking.

Throughout the renovation all design choices were made to create cohesion throughout the spaces. A focus on natural colours and making reference to the homes location on the coast was paramount in translating the design concept into fruition. The final result was a beautiful home which encouraged entertaining whilst allowing its owners to find solace in their new spaces and relax into the next phase of their family life.
